Hello Waterloo!

I was born and raised in Waterloo, and I am proud to continue calling Waterloo Region my home. I live here with my husband, Aaron, and our daughter, Adelyn, and our family is deeply connected to this community.

As the spouse of a combat veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, I am a strong advocate for Veteran and First Responder mental‑health supports — not only for those who serve, but for the families who stand beside them.

I am a Communications graduate who has spent many years working in media, holding positions on air, in media relations and public relations and in promotional & marketing roles across radio, television, sports and entertainment. In recent years, I have been working for the Region of Waterloo, in an administrative staff role at Regional Council. This work has given me valuable insight into how the Region operates and the complex issues facing our community today.

I am a proud supporter of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, regularly organizing community food‑drive initiatives to collect donations for families in need.

I am also an advocate for child literacy and education, contributing to programs such as the WRPS Backpack Challenge to help ensure students begin the school year with essential supplies and a strong supporter of Special Olympics, and Waterloo Wellington Down Syndrome Society.

Beyond these efforts, I participate in a variety of fundraising events for local and national organizations, including Supportive Housing’s Coldest Night of the Year, Terry Fox Run Waterloo, Canadian Forces Army Run, and Indigenous‑supporting initiatives. My involvement reflects a long‑standing commitment to strengthening community resilience and supporting vulnerable populations across Waterloo Region.

The Region of Waterloo is situated on the lands within the Haldimand Treaty of 1784, a formally ratified agreement acknowledging six miles on either side of the Grand River as treaty territory belonging to Six Nations of the Grand River. Waterloo Region is located on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Chonnonton and Haudenosaunee peoples. This territory is within the lands protected by the Dish with One Spoon wampum. We acknowledge the enduring presence, knowledge and philosophies of Indigenous Peoples. We acknowledge the enduring presence and contributions Indigenous Peoples make in shaping Waterloo Region, and our shared responsibility to help recognize the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action.
